Default Farming confused..

After hard mode began, i found much difficulty in acquiring money. I only have 1 PvE character....a dervish that completed Nightfall b4 hard mode began. I could farm easily before it was out ...was farming Djins and at Nundu Bay. But now i dont know what to do anymore to get money. I know that there is the vanquishing possibility but i dont want to kill creatures like 1 by 1. I want a farming plan..can you guys give me tips on where to farm and what build to use?

Thanks

TaDa! That site has builds, pvp and pve.

I don't know what build you were using before, but the 13- hp dervish works well on Exuro Flattus in NF for me.

You could rip up a 55. Yes you have to ascend and all that but they are main farmers, can just about do anything. I made mine way back, about a year ago when Superior runes were around 20K, now they are very cheap, the max one being around 2K. It will take some time but it pays for itself in the end, and its loads cheaper than it used to be.

Play hard mode! And have patience.
I been playing hard mode in Nightfall for three days now. I've made over 20k, got about 10 gold drops in one run, and a mesmer and a warrior tome.
I even got a gold req. 9 max vampiric flamberge of prunning with a 20% against plants!
I don't really go out and farm like crazy, but I save what I get. Most of the time....lol.

The Desolation area is good for getting decent gold and some decent drops as well.

Good luck!

And you don't need to make a new character to make a 130hp derv.

Der....lol..I should add I got the 20k from picking up gold, and selling the drops and such to the merchants, sorry.

The reason why farming bit it is because they changed the way loot was scaled. It used to be the less people in an instance, the more stuff dropped for you. Since the release of Hard Mode, this changed because drops were scaled to the party limit for an area instead of the actual party size. Not counting rare drops.

Before: everything dropped for you, you got 100% of an areas drops. Since the game was made for 8 people, 800% profit to solo (in theory)

Now: you get 1/8th the drops no matter who all you drag or do not drag with you. This does not count rare drops like golds, rare materials, maybe purples too.

At least that's how i understand it. If i am wrong, i am sure someone will be quick to point it out.

My advice for money if you are lazy like me and don't like to farm is spend less than you bring in if you are saving for something, do all the free treasure chests every month, ID items before you sell them (level 20+ areas) and learn to recognize items that are easily sold to other players and for how much.

You've completed NF? Go do treasure runs. You can make a decent amount in under an hour, once a month.

Go to the guru auction pages. Look up items that are selling for over 20k. Take note of the name of the items. Look them on guildwiki (either or) and it should say where it drops.

Then farm.

One tip that any person who is experienced with trading will tell you.

"Buy low, sell high."

To do what you just said, i need to start off with atleast 100k cash to be able to buy low price rare items and sell them high. I want to GET to that 100k, thats what im asking. And yes i did check pvxbuilds.com like 10 times and i even tried googling locations for like 30 minutes

130 derv, they work all over, particularly where it's possible to 55, and are fairly easy to play. If you don't want to make a new char, that's a good idea.

Doing the dungeons is probably a better way to make money IMO the onyx dropped are always worth it and semi common. I personally think they are better then chest running in kamadan, prob not to 55ers since they can farm DoA or UW. But ive made at least 30k in 2 days doin it

Hi, can someone elaborate on this?

I am not sure what this is, this is the first I have heard of this.
New to the GWGuru...

Does it apply to Proph and EoN as well.

I apologize if this has been asked before.

There are certain spots which give you money and a gold/purple item once a month. Using more than three or so in a month generally drops the value of the rest of the treasures by a significant amount.

See: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Treasure

This only applies to Nightfall, as it is the only campaign with them.
